Marketing: what I've learned and what has helped

Many of you know that I started out as Emily Mah, the science fiction and fantasy author and blogger, following the traditional career path in writing, selling short stories and networking with professionals at conventions. Then I went indie to see what I could learn, specifically about promoting my books. I took on my married name, E.M. Tippetts, and started writing romance.

Well, here's the sum total of what I've learned about marketing. It isn't much, but it's something, at least.
